West Plum Studio -x- Homestead Kitchen
Life can be busy, noisy, and a little overwhelming at times — which is exactly why it’s so important to carve out space for yourself. A few precious hours to slow down, get creative, and make something beautiful with your own hands.
On Thursday 24th October 2025, we’re inviting you to do just that. Join us at The Homestead Kitchen for a cosy, craft-filled morning with Sophie from West Plum Studio, who will guide you through the process of making your very own woven wall hanging. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have dabbled in tapestry weaving before, this workshop will give you the skills, materials, and encouragement you need to create something truly special.

What to Expect
Sophie will take you step-by-step through:
-
Setting up your weaving loom
-
Three core weaving techniques
-
Finishing your piece so it’s ready to hang with pride
You’ll be working with a gorgeous selection of 100% British wool, choosing three colours to be the stars of your design, plus a soft neutral cream for the fringe. All materials and equipment will be provided — all you need to bring is yourself and a willingness to unwind.
More Than Just a Workshop
We love the way creative workshops bring people together. In fact, Sophie’s first workshop here in 2023 introduced us to Jan, who is now our head gardener! I first met Sophie years ago, when we were both pregnant and attending the same beautiful yoga studio (hello, Stables Yoga alumni!). We later reconnected during one of our social walks here at the restaurant. This sense of community, connection, and shared creativity is at the heart of what we do — and what makes these mornings so memorable.
