Spring Tasting Menu April 28th

New Year’s Eve 2023 December 31st

The Homestead Kitchen is more than just a restaurant for us, it’s a passion, a place for us to really bring alive the things we love and brings us joy. Each ingredient has been carefully thought out and sourced, imagine seeing a map of the North York Moors and surrounding areas, and then seeing all the amazing suppliers, producers and growers popping up, and then all being brought together. Well this is what we have done, from fresh fish landed in Whitby, meat from moorland farms and via our local butcher, breads made with organic flour milled on the moors, organic vegetables grown just a few hours away, and closer to home, vegetables, fruits, flowers and herbs from our very own garden.

Our hope is that the Homestead becomes a space to eat, and drink, and come together. Our menu is ever changing, depending on what is in season, with specials created when our local fisherman arrives at the door with boxes of fresh langoustines, or line caught mackerel, or friends arrive with armfuls of rhubarb.

Over the coming years we hope to create a flourishing and vibrant space, growing our own family, growing on the land, and growing in the community.

MICHELIN Guide 2022

In February 2022, just 3 months after opening, The Homestead Kitchen was recommended in the MICHELIN Guide 2022.

They said “Ask for a table at the rear of this attractive stone-built former farmhouse so you can look out over the moors. It’s a small place, with a modern country house style, and is proudly run by two experienced chefs. The menu is concise but has plenty of appeal, with refined dishes crafted from local produce.”

Looking for a special gift for someone?

“The best food we have ever had in this country. Absolutely superb from the welcome to the service and of course the sublime food Exquisite flavours, creative and inventive ideas. An experience to be savoured”

“I’ve been trying to find the right adjective to describe the whole experience of eating at The Homestead Kitchen and I finally realised that it is “exquisite”.
The warm welcome and the beautiful decor made me feel like I’d popped round to a friend’s house for dinner. Obviously a friend with exquisite taste and an eye for understated, subtle and perfect detail.”
“I would give Homestead Kitchen 6/5 if I could, absolutely impeccable food and service. I would go as far as to say it was one of the best lunches I’ve ever had. It was my Mum’s birthday and they made it very special.”
