Outstanding care and service along with superb food
The Homestead is quite simply outstanding!
The Front of House Team is superb – nothing is too much trouble. The conversation with them is easy, relaxed and as informative as you wish – all in that natural friendly manner that Yorkshire is famed for. We’ve had such pleasant chats. They deserve every recognition.
There are few restaurants where you can witness the ethos of sustainability whilst you enjoy a view which includes the garden produce which delivers this ethos to your plate.
Cecily is just great at keeping all informed as to events and always promotes The Homestead ethos of sustainability and sourcing local produce.

We have been visiting the homestead since it first opened and love to sit in the window overlooking the veggie plot. It is wonderful to know that everything you eat has been grown locally. The front of house team are all wonderful I find them very serene not like most restaurants where the staff rush around and don’t have the time or inclination to tell you about the food they are serving you.
We love going for a guided walk followed by a 2-course luncheon – seated at a table overlooking the veg garden – with other like-minded people from near and far. The staff are friendly; nothing is too much trouble. We love the fact that the food is home-grown and sustainable and the business is run by the family.
