Can you help us reclaim our crown as the Best Local Restaurant in the North East?

The Good Food Guide is in my eyes, an institution in the foodie world. Whenever we go anywhere, I pull up the app and see where to go in the area. What I love about it is the places are real and authentic, and often without too much fuss about them. My kind of dining. Every year they cast their net and ask diners to nominate their favourite local restaurants.

Could you help us make the shortlist?

We were over to moon to win our region in 2023, and we would love once again to do this, and we need your help!

Nominations can be made online, it’s a simple form, a few details about us (I will put these at the bottom of the post) and then the all important question… “What makes this a great local restaurant?”

“The Homestead Goathland is a genuinely special gem of a restaurant in the scenic village of Goathland. From the first time we arrived for a meal, we could feel we were in a truly brilliant place. The atmosphere is the perfect balance between warm, welcoming and down to earth and polished, modern fine dining in a perfectly curated setting. The menu exquisitely captures the essence of the current season and the local provenance of the ingredients demonstrates a clear commitment to supporting other local businesses, as well as to the environment. We love sitting to eat overlooking the kitchen’s raised beds and appreciate the single sitting approach, as it means we can enjoy the experience for as long as we want. The chef is clearly a skilled master at his craft, his dishes are absolutely on par with the best dishes I have ever eaten.
