As is the way with most things, this event came about from chatting to customers and getting inspired whilst serving food! Personally I adore getting in the festive mood, and if there is also delicious food involved then I am usually first in the queue. So here we are, planning our very first Christmas shopping event here at the Homestead.
We have a small selection of stalls, all of which have come about thanks to some sort of connection with what we are doing here in Goathland. Alongside the shopping we will also be offering a warming seasonal lunch of soup and toasted organic bread, or rarebit. Drinks wise the bar will be open, and we will also be serving mulled wine – I can already smell it now!
Here’s the line up of lovely folk you can buy from:
My first ‘baby’ before my actual children, and the Homestead! What started out as a little venture into making lipbalms, became a full range of natural skincare products. Although I am no longer involved, the business is still run by my younger sister.
We first met Kath when she kindly offered to make some plates for the restaurant. We now have what I can only describe as a slight addiction, and a few orders later you will likely have eaten off one of her beautiful pieces if you have been to dine with us.
A woman of many talents, skydiver, firefighter, graphic artist, and most recently Homestead front of house! Georgie will be bringing her letterpress to show you how she creates her pieces.
If you need to get your home festive ready, then Ellie will be able to help. Blooms by Ellie strives to produce unique, contemporary and captivating floral arrangements, bouquets and wreaths. Using fresh seasonal blooms and where possible, British from local suppliers.
Bamboo, beachwood and seaweed aren’t necessarily things you would imagine as underwear materials, but at Eartha they have a real passion for sustainability and are coming up with innovative methods. Emily has already won awards for her work, and we are excited to have her with us.
It was while Antonia was having lunch one day that we came up with the idea for our first Christmas fair. Taking inspiration from nature and the landscapes around her, Antonia makes her work as a way to capture, express and share the moments that resonate deeply for her.
You may have already seen Chapter Organics in the washrooms here at the restaurant, they make the most wonderful aromatherapy based products in Yorkshire. We always have a small selection available to buy, but will be adding some extra items especially for the fair.
Are you taking bookings for the lunch at the Christmas Boutique Fayre on 24th Nov.
Hi Lynne, We aren’t serving lunch at the Christmas Fair this year I am afraid. It was so busy last year we decided it wasn’t practical trying to seat everyone, so instead we have more stalls for shopping! We will be serving mince pies, mulled wine, and the bar will be open, however there will just be a couple of bar stools and other than that it’s more of a milling around affair. Thanks, Cecily
