I was almost hesitant to set up some fundraising for something that carries so much emotion and political baggage… I don’t personally profess to be an expert in the current conflict, and nor would I ever want to come across as taking sides, or minimising any hurt caused to any group of people. What I am sure about though, is that at present there is a real need for medical aid to be sent to those in need in Gaza, and as a fellow human being and mother, I felt compelled to do something. After a few discussions between Pete and myself, we agreed we would give away an overnight stay with dinner for two here at the Homestead. The idea was to create a prize draw, £10 a ticket, and see what we could achieve. I shared our thoughts on social media, and was overwhelmed with the generosity of our followers who all asked if they too could add to the prizes. So now this is much more than I first imagined!!

We spoke with Medical Aid for Palestinians, and they have backed our fundraising efforts. We are using Crowdfunder to manage it, and you can enter HERE. Entries are priced at £10 per ticket, and the draw will be open until midnight 30th April 2024. We will then randomly pick ten winners and also randomly allocate a prize from the following list:

1. Dinner for 2 with an overnight stay at the Homestead Kitchen. (worth £410)
