This November, we’re inviting you to gather around the Homestead table for a very special evening — a bespoke tasting menu with paired wines, hosted in collaboration with our friend and wine supplier Rob Bagot of Buon Vino Wines.
Rob has been part of The Homestead story since early 2025, when he started to help us curate and move our wine list to a more sustainable offering. His knowledge and passion for natural, low-intervention wines have helped shape the drinks we pour and the experiences we share. On this evening, Rob will guide us through each pour — telling the stories of the growers, the soil, and the quiet artistry behind every bottle.
This is more than a dinner; it’s a conversation between kitchen, vineyard, and guest — celebrating the link between the land and what’s on your plate.
Friday 7th November 2025 · 7pm · £145 per person
(Please note this is a set menu and we cannot make dietary adjustments.)
The Menu & Pairings
Each course has been designed to complement and highlight the distinct characters of these exceptional wines, crafted by winemakers who champion sustainability and expression of place.
Whitby Jet Canapé
Squid ink donut, smoked cod roe cream, trout caviar
Paired with ‘Ancestral Brut Rosé’, Les Terres Blanches, France, 2023
A delicate sparkling rosé from the Loire Valley, made using the ancestral method. Les Terres Blanches produce minimal-intervention wines that capture the texture and purity of their limestone soils — a beautiful opening to the evening.
Moorland Stottie
Glazed with garden garlic oil, kipper butter, Botton cheese fondue
Heritage Beetroot Salad
Fresh curd cheese, pickled pear, hazelnut dressing
Paired with ‘Vouvray Sec Tendre’, Le Clos de La Meslerie, Peter Hahn, France, 2022
Peter Hahn’s wines come from a tiny biodynamic estate in the Loire, where each vine is tended by hand. His Vouvray balances fruit and minerality — elegant, honest, and quietly powerful, much like Peter himself.
Hartlepool Landed Halibut
Poached in brown butter, roasted halibut sauce, garlic Shetland mussels, parsley oil
Paired with ‘Grain Arvine’, de Fully, Marie-Thérèse Chappaz, Switzerland, 2021
From one of Switzerland’s most revered winemakers, Marie-Thérèse Chappaz crafts her wines with remarkable integrity and grace. Her Grain Arvine is pure alpine freshness — structured, aromatic, and utterly captivating alongside halibut.
North York Moors Partridge
Partridge faggot stuffing, thyme fondant, purple broccoli, pan juices
Paired with ‘Chianti Classico’, Montesecondo, Italy, 2021
Silvio Messana’s Montesecondo estate near Florence is a biodynamic haven where the land dictates the pace. His Chianti Classico is vibrant yet soft, with wild herbs and forest fruit — a perfect match for game and autumnal depth.
Glazed Pear
With lemon thyme, dark chocolate cremeux, fig leaf ice cream, candied hazelnuts
Paired with ‘L’Equilibriste’, Montlouis Sur Loire, La Grange Tiphaine, France, 2018
A poetic finale: this off-dry Chenin from Coralie and Damien Delecheneau of La Grange Tiphaine is all balance and beauty — honeyed yet fresh, rich yet light. A wine that lingers as long as the evening’s stories.
Sweet Finish
Bay leaf and Whitby sea salt chocolate caramel truffle
